BIZET'S ARIA

BIZET'S ARIA is tenth in a series of dolls inspired by classical music. She is inspired by the aria, which first appeared in the 14th century.
Bizet's Aria is based on the "Habanera", an aria from the opera Carmen by Georges Bizet. This Aria was adapted from the habanera "El Arreglito" originally composed by Sebastián Yradier. The song is also sometimes known by its first two lines, "L'amour est un oiseau rebelle que nul ne peut apprivoiser". Its melody is among the most famous in the Western musical tradition.

In live performances, after singing the concluding words of the song (prends garde à toi!), Carmen tosses a flower to Don José. Later on, in the celebrated Flower Song, Don José tells how he treasured the flower while in prison.

Bizet's Aria's mysterious brown eyes are detailed with shades of Burnt Umber, Taupe and Burnt Sienna with highlights in white and are ringed with a Deep Burnt Umber. Eyes are shadowed in shades of frosty peach, taupe and sienna. Lined with black, as well as a peach frost. Painted upper & lower lashes & eyebrows. Lips in Shimmering Deep Rose.

Bizet's Aria's hair was left in it's original style, as it lent itself to the design and concept of the doll. Bizet's Aria wears a hand-painted red rose, which represents the rose Carmen tosses to Don José. Bizet's
Aria is a former Resort Daphne.
